Taking bets on how long until the Tesla flying car demo is revealed to have been a rigged demo
@researchfairy
a first point for me is you can't say something flies if it didn't take off (upwards, that is, meaning: in a direction opposite to gravity)..
Thinking about scrapping this latest attempt at a BASIC interpreter, and sitting down and having a think about what a nice BASIC would require for my purposes.
Array variables. Some nice string operations, such as INSTR() and LEFT$ etc.
I am getting stuck on following crabbed code from the 1970s. I have 8K of SRAM, a large complement of registers, and enormous amount of flash memory--256KB. The Arduino mega is quite beefy.
The code I have been following is a mixture of 8080 assembly, and 8080 assembly transposed onto Arduino assembly with macros.
And for the largest part of the code, it works. Given the ATmega chips allow so many addressing modes for the 32 general purpose registers a chip has, you can just define r24 to be an 8080 accumulator and have it work.
Macros are really useful in assembly language. Don't every forget to leverage the C preprocessor for Arduino assembly. Highly suggest at least looking.
It doesn’t happen on its own. It has to be DONE.
Those who have seized power have never willingly given it up.
Is it bad if major defense contractors have their own foreign policies?

@hipsterelectron GNU/cyborg supersoldier whose directive 0 is “you must not harm Richard Stallman” and whose right leg doesn’t initialize half the time due to a driver issue
So i guess Trump nazis committing assaults at rallies only to be congratulated for it by the President of the United States is just a feature of our society now - given the way we're reporting it and responding to it.
Know your unit conversions!
2 Zacharias = 1 Scaramucci
@MichaelTBacon And 5 Scaramuccis = 1 Truss
@farah
Kids are basically locusts. If you don't protect your food, you'll starve.
@zzt GNU/cyborg supersoldier whose ROM was wiped in a driver issue and relearns the world from scratch and in a pivotal moment when the secret backdoor is deployed against them stallman finds to his horror the rootkit doesn't work anymore
@idzie I’ve already started sitting in the retina scorching SAD light glow every morning. Have almost convinced myself that it helps.
@IcooIey with the chronic migraine bright lights like that are way too much for me, I've tried briefly in the past and it was NOT happening 🥲

@catsalad
YAY! MUST HAVE MORE CAT BEHAVIORS.
I guess it's time to go around and headbutt the other human in the house when she least expects it. *bonk*
Also, yelling plaintively for no reason.
the more i think about this the more i feel like it's possibly one of the most outrageous scandals to happen in global politics in a long time. if it is what it looks like it's an absolute watershed crisis moment for the US and world.

“I can’t do this without AI” is the same sentence when you stop after the first four words.
